Article Submission - Get Fresh Traffic To Your Website Now

Article Submission Software that actually works? I was a little skeptical, and i have purchased plenty of aditional software and read that articles are definately the way to go to build traffic to my website. I had been writing articles, but really felt that this idea was a horrible one and the reality was that my articles would never get placed.

OH BOY WAS I SOOOOOO WRONG!!!

I had looked into different ideas, toyed around with a few article submission packages. I spent a bit of money on a package (that i will not name), but it was the most expensive package out there. I like the idea of unmanned instant article submission, but this package ended up mixing my information up in the search engines. For the most part it was ok, but on a few important sites i was disappointed that my ratings ended up not at my expectation.

So, i needed a manual submission process that wasn't so manual, and an automated submission process that wasn't so automated to where i could preview my submissions before they where submitted. I didn't want to actually have to type the information at every site, but i did want to be able to glance over the info to make sure that the information was correct.

So after looking around at the software i found Article Submision Pro. This software gave me the best of both worlds automatic and manual submission.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION WORKS!! - Yes it does!!! There isn't a choice whether you should or shouldn't submit articles. The choice you have to make is are you going to:

1.) Spend all your time searching and creating a way to submit your articles in a systematic fashion.

2.) Pay a directory and submission service company up to $50 per site to manually submit your articles.

3.) Make a purchase of a piece of software that can submit the articles for you, the software i use is called Article Submission PRO, and i even used it to distribute this article that you are reading now. Free Traffic is the way to go.

If you are interested in Article Submission Pro - The website is http://www.articlesubmissionpro.net

San Jose Schools Alternative Education Program Saves Troubled Students

A Different Kind of Education

San Jose Schools face the same problem that all school districts around the country face, losing at risk students. The San Jose School District has found a solution to this problem while still including these students as a part of the traditional school population. San Jose Schools alternative school program allows for individual attention to the students needs while having them participate in activities at the regular campuses.

For some students the traditional school format doesnt work. Students can become apathetic and risk not graduating. In the San Jose School Districts alternative education program students can play sports, participate in extracurricular activities and be included in the graduation ceremonies of a regular school. At risk students can have English language proficiency issues, difficulty in motivation, simply moving to a new school or many other seemingly small but crucial reasons. San Jose Schools are successfully meeting the needs of these students.

Helping Students to Learn

The alternative education program of San Jose School District could become a model for the rest of the country. Classes in these programs tend to be much smaller and focus on the needs of the individual student. The San Jose School District has approximately thirty-two thousand students, so has to find a way to manage the needs of all thee students while dealing with the concerns of budget and resource allocation.

San Jose Unified School District has created smaller alternative specialty campuses inside six of its high schools. Each of these campuses has about fifty students being instructed by two teachers and an on-site counselor. The students involved in the program are generally juniors or seniors who are in peril of actually graduating from high school. The aim of the program is to help these students catch up in the academic credits needed to graduate. The students spend about half the day in intensive classes and the rest of the day taking classes at a community college or a vocational training facility.

The principal of San Jose School Districts alternative program, Linda Ferdig-Riley, uses information provided by the high schools to choose the students who are in need of assistance and will be included in the program. The program provides a distinctive and exclusive curriculum for each student. These specialized plans include monthly reporting of grades, personalized counseling sessions, and career guidance that is specifically designed of the different students.

How San Jose School Districts Alternative Program Compares

This program appears to be working

How To Forget About Spam Once And For All

You will laugh next time you see an unknown email message in your Inbox. This knowledge will help you understand more what spammers and phishers look like.

First suggestion to decrease spam

The best way to decrease or totally eliminate spam from your Inbox is to use a Gmail account. I tested a lot of accounts, such as yahoo mail, msn hotmail, adpost, Outlook express and mailup.

I noticed that Gmail is very good to filter spam, and even though I receive spam all of it ends automatically in the Spam Folder. I do not use any anti spam software. Although I receive even more than hundred emails a day the spam software is useless if you have a Gmail account. You can get it for free from the google website.

If you are receiving spam from the same people over and over again you can report them. If you use Gmail, you can contact the Google Team. You can also create a filter that will automatically delete all messages sent from a specific email address.

Common reasons you receive spam

1. You receive spam because people see your email address. That does not mean you have to keep it Top Secret. It means you must use your email carefully. If possible don't write it down in message boards, forums, groups or classified ads.

Treat your email address as if it is the key of an important door. Do not share it with everyone, or give it freely away to other people whom you do not yet know. Spammers find these email addresses online, anywhere. Then they start sending you messages or even sell your email to other spammers.

I have more than one Gmail account and you can too. If you have many contacts or do business you can just use one account for sending emails and another for something else.

2. Subscriptions to newsletters, ezines or any other subscription may be dangerous. Do not submit your Name and Email to all the subscription boxes you find online.

Some are so interesting that attract a lot of people, maybe cause they are giving away something for free. There are hundreds and thousands of newsletters, and usually they all give some freebie to attract new subscribers.

Use caution, and only subscribe to newsletters and ezines that you are really interested in, not just to receive the freebie. If you just need the freebie a good idea is to create a new Gmail account and name it myfrebbies. Then use that account just for getting freebies.

If the site is looking badly designed, or even some other things that are repelling you, then don't subscribe. The badly designed sites do not have good newsletters neither and they might sell your email or send you spam.

Most dangerous type of spam

Phishing is the most dangerous type of scam. Phishers attempt to fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as passwords and credit card details. These people are simple called Phishers not Spammers.

Phishers send messages trying to make you believe they are huge companies like paypal, ebay, stormpay, HSBC and many others.

You can read the title of your email messages and simple understand they are fake.

Further more these may contain adware or spyware. You should just delete them. Never click the links.

Those sites are fake, and just by clicking on a single fake link from your email message that can harm your PC with spyware or adware.

Ebay, paypal or any other worldwide known company will always email you saying:

Dear your full name or Dear name

Phishers most often do not even say Dear or Hello, or say just Hello Friend. They don't know your real name most often.

Links inside emails can be verified to see if they are fake or real. If you open a message and you think it is phishing place your mouse button without clicking over the URL. It's important not to click. Then simple look at the bottom of your browser.

Are the links the same? Probably not, cause they are fake. Delete message.

You should treat spam as if they are really harmful cause they indeed are. Take care of your email address, cause it is the key to your privacy. The Internet can be very dangerous if you allow it to be. This advice helps makes your online activity safer. Everyone has common sense, and it is important to make use of it when you are on the Internet. If it looks to good to be true, than it is.

10 Smart Ways to Start Your Medical Billing Business Without Investing Too Much Money

1. Start with a good business plan (you dont have to hire a professional to do this for you, you are the entrepreneur, you have the ideas, so you can make your own business plan! You just perhaps need a guide on how you will present it. There are many free information available on the internet on how to do this!!) & proper registration, paper works for your business (you may contact your countys Small Business Administration Office, they provide free consultation, guidelines and information on how to register your business!)

2. By now, you should know what software to buy (at least, that would be the software you are experienced and familiar with) ---but DO NOT buy it yet!

3. You must market your medical billing service first before you purchase that software (it is safer to have a client first in hand before you make the purchase, this way, youre sure you have a client before investing on the software--- theyre expensive!). I suggest, you contact your own doctor & specialists that you visit, and your friends who are in the medical field who trust you and knows what you do

4. Find your first client. How are you going to do this? In the yellow pages, insurance companies website (you can access many of insurance companies doctors database even if you are not a member of that insurance company) and your friends in the medical field. Looking at the job ad in the newspaper or on any internet job site who needs medical biller is also a good prospect!

5. How do you market it? Send out newsletters, pens, calendars or any give-aways to the doctors office. But remember, it is best to convince the office manager about your service! Believe it or not, newsletter I think is most effective. Give them something they can read that shows them beneficial to their practice, especially on their cash-flow crisis!

6. Offer your prospect the most competitive rate (anyway, you are still starting and you need to prove your work-quality as a start-up business! break even for the first 3 months is just logical)

7. Heres the most important thing (if you can do it) --- upon signing of service contract, ask for a start-up fee (to set up their practice database in your server) of at least $500.00. This will then be refunded to them on their 3rd and 4th invoice. If you send your invoice every two weeks, you will refund this start up fee on the 7th and 9th week (thats approximately after 2 months!), fair enough? Right?

8. You have now a cash-on-hand of $500. Its time to contact your billing software reseller and purchase the software. Let them guide you how to set up the software (this is easy to do!). If the software will cost you $1,000, you only had to pay $500 out-of-your pocket for that software because you have already collected $500 as a start-up fee from your 1st client.

9. Set up your clients database on your billing software (you can upload their database and download it on your system!---take note of compatibility of their software!). Or if not, set it up, manually.

10. Start processing claims immediately!, deliver results! collect their money and make your provider very pleased with your service!

The above 10 smart ways are just my ideas. Trust no one but yourself. You can not imagine you can be victimized by scams! Read more, get more information. Remember, knowledge is power! There are no shortcuts to success!

How Safe Is Your Computer ?

Your computer can be open to attack from different types of spyware. Spyware constitutes those programs that are deliberately lodged in your computer without your approval or knowledge. The only way to escape spyware or at least minimize its effects is to install antispyware software on your pc.

If you surf the web, you can be sure that you face the ongoing risk of spyware or adware. It is time you updated your antispyware programs to keep your PC healthy. But first let us briefly examine the most common types of spyware.

Gone are the days when viruses were expected only via our email. Now we don't even have to click a link to be infected. All we have to do is browse the Internet, and it's an open invitation to spyware. Spyware constitutes those programs that are deliberately lodged in your computer without your approval or knowledge. You can never live without spyware and adware protection.

Types Of Spyware

Adware is the worst form of spyware. These programs lay in wait for you to connect to the Internet and then they send you popups that give you all kinds of offers. And while you are thinking how considerate those websites are, these fake popups are actually recording your viewing habits and smuggling them off to marketing companies who sell you junk.

Another irritating form of spyware is the browser hijacker. After installing themselves on your PC, they just change your default homepage and search engine. When you start your web browser, you'll find that you are flooded with ads, porn and other stuff you don't want. The scary part of this is that they mine data - which means they report your surfing habits to someone who uses the information unethically.

Keyboard loggers are thieves who steal your PIN number when you bank online. They get your passwords. This means, without spyware protection, your personal information and assets can be stolen. Then there are Diallers that enter your PC through a virus infection, adult websites, warez, or even MP3s. A dialler is software that dials numbers at premium rates when you are not around and you end up with bills for thousands of dollars.

If you use file-sharing programs, while installing it, spyware also gets installed, unless you read your end user agreements carefully or have antispyware software installed to keep these Trojans away. Imagine having every keystroke recorded, and your private instant messages, emails and other conversations being logged and reported elsewhere without you knowing about it! No - not the best situation to be in! So, never be without spyware protection.

Is There Freedom From Spyware?

The only way to escape spyware or at least minimize its effects is to install antispyware software on your pc. Some programs just remove the spyware but cannot prevent new spyware from coming into your pc. Get firewall software, if you use broadband or high-speed connections. Avoid clicking on links that promise you free movies, prizes, free software etc. Update your antispyware program and scan your PC regularly.

Why Do We Need Anti-Spam Software?

Spam, otherwise known as junk email or unsolicited commercial email; is quickly becoming on of the most prevalent complaints of internet users. Not only is it annoying, but it is quickly becoming a dangerous and potentially expensive problem for businesses as well as individuals.

How is it dangerous?

First and foremost, spam is one of the leading causes for clogged networks and slow connections. American Online, one of the nations largest internet service providers; transmits over 8 trillion spam email messages a year. Those messages tie up valuable bandwidth and can slow down entire networks. Although end users will rarely see a significant change in their connections, they can rest assured that a noteworthy portion of their monthly bill is paying for that lost bandwidth.

Most spam includes images or weblinks within it commercial content. Although some of it is begin or at worst annoying, an increasing portion contains sexually explicit content. Spam messages frequently contain pornographic pictures or links to sex-related websites.

These messages are not suited for children yet can easily be accidentally opened by minors. In addition to simple sexual content, some of the most severely sexually explicit spam can contain images of such illegal and offensive acts such as bestiality or child pornography.

Aside from slowing connections or carrying unwanted pornography, spam is the leading cause of transmitted computer viruses. Computer viruses are programs which run malicious code which can damage computer systems, delete files and steal personal information. These viruses are often hidden in an email messages as attachments such as a pictures. Email transmitted viruses can render entire systems inoperable and delete important documents forever.

How can you stop it?

The easiest and most simple way to stop unwanted email is to employ a spam blocker. Spam blockers are manufactured by a variety of companies and be anywhere from free to costing upwards of 50$.

There are three basic types of spam blocking software. The first is a key-word blocker. These programs examine the header and body of an email message looking for a series of predefined criteria. For example, a program could be instructed to flag or block any email message containing the word sex.

Although seemingly straightforward, the spam blocker also has to stop any spelling variation of sex such as sexx or s_e_x. Although this type of spam blocker can do very well at stopping spam, it also has a tendency to block personal emails which may or may not contain flagged words.

The second type of spam blocker is an address list blocker which blocks or flags any emails not coming from a predefined list of addresses (such as the users address book).

Although this type of spam blocker does a very good job of not blocking personal emails from friends or family, it can inadvertently delete important messages from users not on the original predefined list. This can make it very easy to miss potentially important yet unexpected emails.

The third type of spam blocker is actually a hybrid of the aforementioned varieties. It will filter emails from known friendly accounts directly to the inbox while holding potentially dangerous emails in the filter. The user can then go in and sort through emails from either friendly strangers (non spam emails from unfamiliar addresses) or unfriendly strangers (spam emails from unfamiliar addresses).

Although these programs do require a slight amount of user interaction, they can protect your computer and keep you from inadvertently deleting important emails.

Columbus Schools Innovative Partnership Programs Continue To Succeed

The Columbus Schools partnership programs will continue into the 2006-2007 school year. These programs are conducted jointly with Columbus Schools and local and state universities, colleges, academic organizations, community organizations and area volunteers. The programs are wide ranging and cover lots of different subjects and grade levels.

The Early Childhood Development Center at Columbus Schools Weinland Park Elementary School is a partnership conducted with the Ohio State College of Human Ecology. This center is planned to open in the 2006-2007 school year. The facility will be able to offer aid to around 90students and their families. The students accepted will be cared for by the Ohio State students, who will benefit from an opportunity to practice what they have learned in the classroom. Columbus Schools Early Childhood Development Center at Weinland Park Elementary School will offer the use of students observation gallery, a creative arts studio, family advocacy offices, and an educational kitchen. While providing a valuable service, the center will also be used to conduct research and model practices developed at Ohio State.

The Time Dollar Store was created in May of 2005. This partnership program involves Columbus Schools Medary Elementary School, the PK-12 Project After School and Summer Youth Development Committee and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus. The Time Dollar Store focuses on parent and guardian interaction and involvement in the Columbus Schools. Parents can volunteer their time and skills and receive payment in Time Dollars, which can then be traded for household item and school supplies. The activities that parents can volunteer for include running a PTO meeting, helping create bulletin boards, distributing flyers or operating the Time Dollar Store. The Time Dollar Store was run at first by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus but is now run by parent volunteers. The program has created a chance for students and parents to share their experiences at the school.

All of the Columbus Schools are participating in a teacher development partnership program with the Ohio State Department of History and the Ohio Historical Society. The program is divided into two sections, History WORKS for middle and high school teachers and History WORKS II for elementary teachers. The original History WORKS program is an ongoing project funded by the federal Teaching American History grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Part of this project created a website that will benefit teachers and their students. The program has three parts: monthly seminars, summer workshops and the creation of the web based resource center. All the seminars were conducted by and held at Ohio States Department of History. The summer workshops were more intensive and held at area Columbus Schools. The History WORKS program focused on six themes: Faces and Places: American History through Ohio Biography; Turning Points: The Constitution and American Democratic Institutions; The United States in the World: American Foreign Relations; Migration and Immigration: The Peopling of America; Common and Uncommon Cents: American Economic History; and Differing Perspectives: Social Movements and Social Change.

The elementary teacher project History WORKS II is a newer project that has the same goals of teacher development. Over 100 teachers from the Columbus Schools are participating in this project. The project hopes to increase elementary school teachers knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of American history through an intensive, ongoing professional development program. This program is a little different in its design than the History WORKS program. It is conducted with Ohio State graduate students who hold training, which included school-year seminars and a two-week summer institute. Their was also an ongoing lecture series featuring distinguished speakers and panel discussions brought middle and high school teacher participants from History WORKS together with their elementary colleagues three times over the year to make American history a central focus of the Columbus Schools.

The Top Ten Spyware And Adware Threats That Exists To Harm Your Computer

If you have a computer, then chances are you have either spyware or adware lurking on it somewhere. Estimates suggest that 90% of computers are infected with malicious software (malware) of some type. They take over your computer, infest it with pop-ups and other junk, or even worse, steal your private information. Although there are countless types of spyware and adware, these are the ones generally considered the biggest threats to your computer.

Gator - This adware is designed to track the sites you surf and so get a picture of your online interests. Once it has enough data, it starts to bombard you with everything from banner ads to pop-ups on similar subjects, hoping to grab your interest and attention. Generally your computer gets infected with Gator when you share files through Kazaa or other means, or when you download freeware.

n-Case - Another type of adware, which subjects you to an endless flood of pop-up ads. Downloading freeware from online sites is the way your computer usually gets infected with this malware.

PurtyScan - This is particularly sneaky adware. First it displays a pop-up ad on your computer offering to detect any pornographic content on your computer, with an offer to remove it. If you click on the ad, however, you end up a website which then infiltrates your computer with even more spyware and adware.

Transponder - Similar to Gator, in that it 'watches' your online behavior, then bombards you with ads that this malware decides are relevant.

CoolWebSearch - This malware is certainly not cool, but malicious. The first step is that it hijacks your Internet settings and web page, and then redirects you to another web page of its own. As you can imagine, that website is full of more adware and spyware, waiting to get into your computer.

Internet Optimizer - You could almost call this piece of malware a hacker. It takes control of your home page, and also any other web pages you visit. The final step is to pass you on to its own web page, so that it can download other malware onto your computer.

Perfect KeyLogger - This malware is a tool for hackers. It can record your keystrokes, which makes it simple to find out private information such as credit card numbers, passwords and other private details. These are then passed on to the hacker.

ISTbar/Aupdate - Although it pretends to be a toolbar, this is still malware. It's a form of spyware, and it operates by continually displaying pornographic images and pop-up ads on your computer, which is both embarrassing and annoying. It also takes control of your Internet settings and web page.

TIBS Dialer - If you access the Internet via a dial-up connection, this malware will hijack your phone modem and then transfer you to various websites full of pornography.

Keen Value - This malware starts out by tracking your online behavior, analyzing every website you visit. It also collects your personal information if you fill out any forms online, and then bombards with endless advertisements, many of which link through to websites full of dangerous malware.

This is why protection is always important even if you surf the next just once a week.

Myth of the Mainstream

'Mainstream' - a principal current of a river, 1667, from main (adj.) stream, hence, "prevailing direction in opinion, popular taste, etc.," a fig. use first attested in Carlyle (1831).

I propose that the concept of 'the mainstream', be it music, art, ideas, politics, entertainment and all other social constructs, is and has always been a social myth.

The key to this argument lies in the cyclical nature of the market economy, political thought, and technological advancement. For sake of simplicity, I shall concentrate solely on the development and eventual disintegration of the concept of the 'mainstream'.

What came before the MP3? The CD.

And before that? Vinyl.

And before that? Shellac and wax drums for musical boxes.

And before that? Sheet Music. Musical Scores.

As funny as it sounds now, at the very dawn of 'Popular Music' or pop, a 'Hit' technically accounted for the total sales of a sheet of music, a musical score. The expectation and reality of the market was solely reliant on availability of current technologies at the time (namely music boxes and pianos) and the musical ability of the consumer.

For the main part it was more economic to purchase an upright piano rather than a the musical box, purchasing songs for a music box was a privilege of the rich. Imagine paying $500 for an mp3 track? No one in their right mind would, yet the physical nature of such devices meant that supplying a range of music for any device would be beyond the reach of the masses. The 'Player Piano' moved things along somewhat, creating rolls of punch paper reduced the costs considerably. For many this was new technology was still out of reach of the average, or even middle income family.

For most, instead of an Ipod, there would stand, pride of place in the Sitting Room or Parlour, a basic upright piano, of which at least one member would be able to read and play music, and the others would at the very least need to hold a whole gamut of decent notes to make the performance painlessly entertaining. The more savvy music publishers (yes they were printers and nothing more), realized early on that if they wanted to increase their sales they'd need to expand their market.

A few seemingly harmless pointers to publishing a popular 'hit' led to a series of hard and fast rules that held back the creative growth of the music industry for over a century.

Family friendly. Their market was the Middle-Class Family, they had money, Sunday Evenings with little to do, a strong moral and religious upbringing and a very definite idea of what music should do.

It shouldn't offend, anyone, anywhere, anyhow. It cannot include any mention of any controversy. The melody must be light, instantly engaging and simple to follow. The whole family must be able to join in and not feel awkward or embarrassed in anyway. Basically hymns.

The market began to fracture eventually, songs for the kids, religious, risque ditties for young lovers and dirty old men, then came style... jazz, blues, big band. Finally wax rolls for musical boxes gave way to shellac and eventually Vinyl discs and as the sound quality improved, and the availability increased and prices reduced, finally those that played the piano instead of a Gramophone, were the rare exception.

The World has changed a lot since then, but as with all things fashion has a funny habit of repeating itself. More and more iPod fans and mp3 addicts are beginning to manipulate their own collections, with the development of a whole series of cheap and cheerful music mixing software releases on the way, it doesn't seem so far-fetched to imagine a time in the not so distant future where rather than the 'Mainstream' we will be talking in terms of Single Streams, or even the 'Onestream'.

In the past the more forward thinking printers and publishers of the day decided to buy music from songwriters for a pittance, sometimes even steal them outright and make all the profit for themselves. Now things are changing beyond belief.

Anyone can make music to a point with the aid of software and electronic instruments that a child could learn and play within minutes. With the increased interactivity involved in many of the new technologies, the PC being the original focal point, most consumers are no longer purely consuming, they are now producing. Be it their own Tivo TV schedule, the play list on their iPod, the answer phone message they recorded themselves. Consumption was never a creative act, but finally it seems technology is enabling individuals to come to that conclusion by themselves.

Eventually few people will purchase entertainment in any form, simply the means to produce it. As part of my Fine Arts Degree many years ago, I specialized in Photo Montage, appropriating and aggregating a variety of disparate images, and manipulating and combining them to form a new and original work. Nowadays few would ever consider going through the rigmarole of cutting and pasting printed matter when a graphics program and the Internet can provide vast more choice in subject matter and imagery.

Technology has led our actions, or rather inaction for most of the 20th Century, in the 21st we are witnessing the slow decay of Consumerism itself, and at the beginning the first change we are all both witnessing and providing, is technological manipulation of consumer goods.

As the manufacturers of multimedia devices finally catch up with demand we will witness more and more graphic and sound interactivity to the point that most products will simply enable us to create our own entertainment, as we have in histories past. The only difference is that your Bedroom DJ Mix is now heard by the world rather than an unwilling friend or family member. Local heroes and heroines will be born, down the road from my place are the band Keane, a very successful UK pop band from Battle, Sussex. Without the proliferation of social networking technologies I doubt that their meteoric rise to fame would have been as startling.

Other more stark examples are Gnarls Berkley and the Arctic Monkeys, who via the Myspace.com service have become major players in the world music scene. This isn't simply a technological change. The 'Futurism' Arts Movement at the turn of the last century was obsessed with painting fast cars and trains and planes, as much as a young boy might do these days. No one wants to draw an MP3 player, no one wants to write a poem about their Xbox. People want to 'use' them, and they do, all of them.

The idea that materialism can enable anything other than a show of wealth has changed, we no longer have toys, we have tools. Consumption is now lured by the idea of Production, the snake is eating itself.

Within your lifetime, your or someone you know will produce something remarkable, the miraculous is about to become commonplace and the 'Mainstream, obsolete.

The mainstream is diverging into a billion tributaries, the concept of popularity, and eventually mass advertising will dry up, along with monolithic centralized institutions and corporations. We as individuals are finally learning to disagree with each other, we are taking informed and personal choices in our consumption, and eventually the production of our own 'streams'. We fish for ideas, we take those ideas and create our own unique range of arts, entertainment and individual understanding of the world. And when we're bored with our own minds, we trade our goods with others, some like-minded, some not so.

Music, Art, Entertainment, conceived, designed and produced by the individual for the individual. Very much the way we began. Travelling Minstrels, visiting one village and the next, trading music, trading styles, ideas, even new technologies, but for the main part from home.

There never was a mainstream, the concept of the mainstream was conceived for the convenience of unwieldy organizations with little ability or even impetus to change. Like a vast dam, blocking and filtering the river, it is now beginning to crumble, and creative sources and flowing in from all directions, a veritable waterfall of new ideas, sounds and images are about to be born.

Ezine Advertising for Home Based Business

Have you ever considered ezine advertising for your home based business? If not, youre truly missing out on some valuable exposure to your business. Ezine advertising can be a powerful tool if you follow the right guidelines and you will be successful.

Always include quantifiable benefits when writing an ezine advertisement and actually tell the truth. For instance, if you say lose 5 pounds in 5 days, people will actually be interested in that and believe it is possible at the same time. Distorting the benefits wont help at all; it will make the advertisement look like a scam more than anything else.

When creating a solo advertisement, alter the copy so that it specifically portrays the product as a solution to a specific problem. Purchase several solo advertisements to test how well this version converts when compared to other versions. Testing is vital if you want to continually improve the conversion rate of your advertisements.

This is very vital for ezine advertising members to realize. Always look for word of mouth referrals for ezine before you place advertisements. In many cases, no matter how good your copy is, you will find that certain ezine simply will not be responsive to your email. This might be because the ezine isn't actually as big as the owner claims it is and it might also be because the owner hasn't promoted the list in a year.

Think on a professional level. Make sure you format your ezine advertisement correctly before you send in to a publisher. In most cases, you will have to format your advertisement to 60 65 words; and you may even want to perform a spam check. If the text isn't formatted properly, lines will be broken and wrapped unprofessionally; and if you don't perform a spam check, it may never even go through in the first place.

When creating a top sponsor advertisement, avoid making an attempt to sell anyone on anything. Instead, give something away completely free that will up sell the reader later, such as a subscription or a special report. Additionally, make sure you clearly communicate that nothing is for sale and that you simply want them to take action for free.

Become a software application provider for ezine owners. Ask ezine owners what software applications they need and then hire someone to create an application for you. Distribute this software to all of the ezine owners who have a use for it. Make sure there is some back-end component build in that will drive users to your site.

Now, moving from our last point about ezine advertising we will now discuss when outsourcing any work you are doing as part of an ezine marketing campaign, remember to carefully check for plagiarism and theft. This is definitely an unpleasant thought, but plagiarism has become quite rampant on freelancing sites. If you own several websites, you can use Copyscape to do this for you; however, each site will be limited to 20 scans.

From Educator To Working At Home - and Making Money!

My name is Ron and Im 52 years old. I taught high school math and coached basketball for 27 years and enjoyed many successes and personal satisfying moments. I left that part of education 3 years ago and am now the athletic director at our school.

Coaching allowed me to meet many of the most successful coaches in college basketball history and attend their clinics and even work at their summer camps. The educator in me has always wanted to know what makes successful people - successful. Ive accumulated ideas from hundreds of biographies and autobiographies of successful people in all areas of life. Ive tried to incorporate those into my teaching and coaching to help prepare young people for life. It didnt make me a lot of money, but it was very rewarding. Someday Id like to develop a website for success ideas/stories/inspirations of all the material Ive collected over the years. But thats for another time right now.

I spent many years in that career I loved, but unfortunately didnt profit from huge salaries. Ive really learned to love exploring on the computer and as I near retirement I was searching for something that was enjoyable and yet something that could be profitable. Searching the web for these kind of ideas is almost incomprehensible! I have sifted through literally hundreds and thousands of ideas and sometimes it makes my head spin.

However, recently Ive come across an opportunity called The Ultimate Wealth Package. It is a program developed by Mark Warren and is definitely different from all those other head spinners. Mark is very thorough in his explanation and completely lays out exactly what you need to do in order to be successful. He explains that this is not a get rich quickly program, but if you follow his plan you can make some money and enjoy what youre doing at the same time. Im not the most computer savvy person in the world - but this is very easy to follow. I am also not the most liberal person - most of my ex-students and athletes would probably say Im very conservative! However Marks program is one that I felt completely comfortable with am looking forward to making part of my life from here on out. If things could work as well as I may hope - it may even allow me to move my retirement up a few years and allow me to enjoy things Ive only dreamt about.

I dont know if youre situation is anything like mine or not, but it really doesnt matter. I think this is an opportunity that could be good for anyone. I would say proceed carefully (like I did) and compare this to other programs youve researched. I really dont think youll be disappointed.

Ill end with a quick motivational story from a book that is probably my favorite of the hundreds/and even thousands from those Ive read. If you havent read Gary Barnetts book HIGH HOPES - you should do so immediately. He took over an absolute dismal college football program at Northwestern and a few years later had them in the Rose Bowl. He simply said: What they (the players) didnt understand was that at 211 degrees, water is just hot. At 212, one more degree of temperature, water turns to steam, which can create enough energy to move a train through a mountain pass. We were simmering at 211.

Ive always tried to inspire my students and athletes to work hard for that one little extra degree. Then they can watch the fruits of their labor pay off. This is exactly how Im going to approach this program. It has inspired me in much the same way.

I wish you well and hope that you will reach for that one last little degree in whatever it is that you want to be good at!

Best Elliptical Trainer - What To Look For In A Crosstrainer

Choosing the best elliptical trainer for you can be tough decision. If you are new to the world of ellipticals, the term "elliptical" literally means to be oval shaped. An elliptical trainer uses a smooth oval like movement to provide smooth movement that is both easy and fun. An elliptical machine works when you stand on soft footpads, and hold handgrips that will help with balance issues. Depending on the model you purchase, your machine may have an upper body workout feature as well. The exercise itself is a lot like walking or running. However, while you are bearing weight on your feet, your feet will not leave the footpads, so you will not experience the level of joint impact you might with walking or running on a treadmill. You, therefore, get an excellent total body workout in a very low impact environment.

What Do I Look For In An Elliptical?

1. The first thing you should consider is your price range. You can buy an elliptical trainer for anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. The more money you invest in the machine, the closer you will come to health club quality, but not every person using an elliptical wants or needs health club quality machines. Part of choosing the best elliptical trainer for you includes deciding how much money you want to spend. Remember, buying exercise equipment should never break the bank. Exercise is not designed to be an expensive activity.

2. The second thing to consider is the features you want. One feature you should consider is resistance control. You can either choose manual or electronic control. Manual is cheaper, but the electronic model usually measures your heart rate for you. Another feature you need to consider are the available programs. Some ellipticals come with no programs. Others have several. Typically, more than three programs is enough, but that's for you to decide.

3. The final thing to consider is the customer satisfaction with the company. This could include some thoughts about the warranty. You should probably do your homework with regard to whatever company you've decided makes the best elliptical trainer. Even the best equipment that does not come with a warranty can be a real problem. Read customer reviews, and you will get a pretty good idea of the customer satisfaction level with the company.

Spyware Can Cause You And Your System Irreparable Damage

Spyware is dangerous to your system and your personal identity. There is always the fear of identity theft as well as financial loss if your system is vulnerable to Spyware. Removing it is imperative.

Spyware can be described in simple terms as software that performs certain functions covertly on your computer such as collecting personal information, changing the configuration of the computer, and advertising. Spyware is often associated with advertising software or software that generates pop-up ads on the screen when the computer is connected to the Internet. Now this does not mean that all Spyware is malicious and causes damage to you by collecting personal information from your system. However, all Spyware do make changes to the system and cause the registry to grow substantially and ultimately cause the system to slow down to a crawl. The Spyware must be removed with the best Spyware removal utilities such as free Microsoft Spyware Removal Tool.

Is Cleaning The Registry Really Important?

Yes. Anti-Spyware searches and detects any Spyware operating in the background of the system. It is designed to detect any program that is operating and yet is not associated with the running programs on the system. Anti-Spyware can then remove such Spyware and secure the computer. Many free Adware Spyware removal tools also clean the registry to some extent. However, Spyware can create entries in the registry in hundreds or even thousands of places. These entries will stay hidden until the Spyware discovers that the exe file is missing. Then the registry entries start to operate and download the necessary files, secretly, from the Internet and the Spyware begins to operate again. Some free Spyware and Adware removal programs can go into the registry and pull out all the entries associated with programs that have been removed from the system.

Are These Spyware and Adware Removal Software Easy And Inexpensive?

Spyware virus removal software is very easy to operate. In fact, they just take a few seconds to download with a fast Internet connection. Installation takes just a few seconds and you are ready to go. Spyware virus removal software such as free Spyware and Adware removal is very effective and has all the safety features of a good Spyware removal utility. Along with this a good PC spyware cleaner can create a back up of the existing registry, which can be restored in case something goes wrong with the cleaning process.

Use Spyware Removal Tools Often

Spyware removal software should be run of the system at intervals of two to three weeks manually to clean and maintain the system. Many free Spyware programs do a great job and keep the system running perfectly. When you discover that the system has slowed down to an unusual pace run the anti-Spyware and you will be sure to come up with a few hundred if not thousands of infected files that need to be healed by the software.

Choosing Anti-Spam Software That Is Right For You

It is believed that on an average, an email user receives more than 2000 Spam emails every year! By certain accounts, an email user receives more than 77 percent of the mail as spam which is around 10 out of every 13 emails you receive! More than two-thirds of the email passing through the air waves are pure junk unwanted and unsolicited. It, therefore, becomes imperative that you chose the right anti-spam software that meets with your requirements.

Spam happens to be one of the biggest disadvantages of using communication channels through the Internet. There is every need to find ways to separate the wanted emails from the unwanted and unsolicited ones. Choosing the correct anti-spam software or Spam filter is the right way to cut down on the spam you receive.

Handling Spam

The amount of spam you can detect and delete depends on the type of screening your emails go through. Many anti-spam software have a multi-level of email screening, which is worth the money you spend. You can even select a trail version or free anti Spam software to sample what it does and then you can opt for a full version with enhanced features and full functionality.

One of the best places to trap and eliminate spam is at the servers that receive, forward, and send the emails. You, of course, have no control over the type of anti-spam handling done by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). To handle spam, there are particular services available to filter them. For a nominal amount each month, a particular service inspects and cleans your inbox. Another service involves forwarding your complete inbox to their servers, where the clean up occurs as emails arrive.

As personal spam blockers, a number of anti-spam software are available from reputed anti-spam suppliers, such as Symantec, McAfee, eScan, PC Mantra etc to name a few. Such software capture and inspect all emails coming in before allowing the clean ones into your inbox.

The type of anti-spam software you select will depend on the volume of emails you handle. It will also depend on the budget you allot to the anti-spam program. The best anti-spam software for you should have the following features, among many others:

It should allow you to see who the sender of the email is, the subject, and the attachment. You can then decide whether to delete the email or accept it.

A chance to preview the message before downloading it. This will enable you to delete if you do not like the message.

The feature that allows you to bounce back the spam email is a great way to let the sender think that your email address is no longer valid. This would probably make them remove you from their mailing list!

There are a number of anti-spam software available with a number of online suppliers that you need to explore, to select the best that is suitable for your needs.

Nashville Schools Budget Barely Keeping With Inflation

The Nashville Schools are bracing for a budget cut. While costs are rising at about 3.4% due to inflation and other needed costs, the increase in the overall budget is only 1.1%. Despite the Nashville Schools best efforts to insure this deficit is not felt by students-there will certainly be changes felt by the loss of 40 classroom teachers and almost 100 custodians.

While the cuts will hurt some areas of the district, the Nashville Schools will still have some winners in the budget game. Several positions will be added, programs kept or expanded, and critical concerns addressed. For starters, there will be an overall increase in guidance counselors and attendance counselors. These are two positions that are expected to improve overall student success in Nashville Schools by steering students towards appropriate programs, and by ensuring regular and consistent attendance.

The Nashville Schools will continue to fund its attendance initiative. One key part of that is the automated phone home program that notifies parents if their children are absent from school. Nashville Schools feel this is a vital program to keep parents informed of their childs attendance, and to hold parents accountable. Also, slated to be kept on the budget for Nashville Schools, is the credit recovery program for both middle and high school students. This program allows students to earn missing credits in order to move up to the next grade level and to graduate on time. The Nashville Schools have seen an overall increase in the number of students graduating on time since its implementation.

The safety officers at each high school will actually see an increase in their numbers as both parents and administrators feel that they are necessary to keep students in Nashville Schools safe. In addition to safety officers, behavior specialists will be placed in schools with the most behavior challenges to help resolve these issues and have a positive impact on the academic lives of these students. The Nashville Schools will also be adding several special education teachers to better serve special needs students. The highly gifted students of the Nashville Schools will see an increase of nine new classrooms for highly gifted students in kindergarten through fourth grade.

A control clerk will be added to the textbook department which will save thousands of dollars a year in lost and misplaced textbooks. The Nashville Schools estimate they lose thousands of dollars each year in books that the school board simply cant trace. The Nashville Schools will also see an increase in the budget for charter schools. While charter schools aide in the education of students of the metro Nashville area, they deplete funds from other schools where teachers and supplies must be kept on hand even though the student population drops. There are also slight increases in the budget for materials, technology information, routine classroom supplies and clerical supplies. The Nashville schools also made an increase in their budget to cover the inflationary costs of fuel, natural gas, and electricity.

What Is The Best Technology To Stop Spam

Legislative measures failed stop Spam up till now. Since Spam is basically a human problem you can do something about it using anti-spam technology. Anti-spam software is the only thing we have now to block undesired messages. Its not a foolproof method however. Lets see why.

Most anti-spam software use inspection techniques to detect Spam emails. The anti-spam program analyzes incoming messages and checks the message content against a known profile of Spam. Something like it asks a question Does this message look as Spam?, and based on that analysis the anti-spam program takes the final decision to allow the message or block it. At best this approach can delete most of the Spam emails allowing only a few ones getting through.

The analysis method is not as reliable as it seems. If you slacken the rules, youll get much Spam in your inbox. If the rules are too strict, youll stop all the Spam with the risk to block quite legitimate messages. A legitimate email incorrectly blocked as spam is called a false positive. If you get a lot of false positives, you will need to read all the Spam emails looking for good messages among the rubbish. But this completely disproves the need of anti-spam software.

The main disadvantage of the analysis method is that the filters that work fine today can stop working tomorrow. Spammers can also try an anti-spam program to tailor their emails so that they will get around the filters. As far as the developers improve their anti-spam programs, the spammers perfect their spam techniques. Thats why we get V1agra and C1alis and many other misspelled words in spam emails. Certain sophisticated techniques allow spammers make an email message that looks differently to a human person than the same message is read by a computer program, for example, when an email contains a text readable for the recipient but the program sees it as a picture. Such kind of spam emails is growing in popularity for spammers now.

A step forward in the analysis techniques is the Bayesian filters. Previously the decision if a particular email is legitimate or spam was made based on how this message was measured up against a general profile of Spam. The Bayesian filters inspect your own inbox and build the databases of good and spam words based on your own incoming messages. This makes possible to adjust the Bayesain filters for every user because the conception of Spam is subjective to some extent. By telling the Bayesian filters that this message is spam and that one is legitimate, you teach the filters to recognize the emails that you personally consider to be spam.

Whitelist and Blacklist do not solve the problem either. Adding trusted email addresses to the whitelist is not quite safe as it seems to be. Nowadays viruses are known to use the email addresses from various address books to forge the messages and send themselves out. Its not possible to add all the email addresses or even email domains to the blacklist either. Spammers do not use real email addresses to send spam. Today you get a spam email from this domain and tomorrow you can receive the very same spam email from a different domain. If you blacklist all the spammers emails, this will result in the blacklist of an interminable size and slower work of anti-spam software.

Simply put, the war between the spammers and their victims continues. Although there is no perfect solution for the Spam problem today, take care and keep your anti-spam filters in fighting trim.

What Is A File With A .LNK Extension?

LNK files are shortcut files that link to an exe file somewhere on the system. These can build up in the central database called the registry and slow the system down drastically if they are not cleaned from time to time. Registry cleaners, such as Windows XP registry cleaner, Free registry cleaner or a Eusing registry cleaner can do the job.

A shortcut file is also known as a link file because it is linked to the program it is expected to startup. A .LNK file is usually linked to a .exe or executable file or program. It is actually a pointer to an .EXE file that may be anywhere on your system. When you click on the shortcut it's like clicking on the .EXE file and the associated program starts to run. Many a time a LNK file will stop working for no reason at all. This is because of some malicious software known as viruses that download themselves and disrupt the underlying .EXE application. They do this by disrupting the association with the program and the link file. Many times the change is unintentional because a downloaded program makes changes to the registry to facilitate their programs thus corrupting the registry. These changes can be undone by registry cleaners that are available for free download from the Internet.

It is possible to undo or repair the damage to a LNK file by going into the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.lnk section of the registry because this is where all the LNK files and associated information is stored for the computer to use. However, it is not as easy as it sounds. You may do more damage to the system than good if you do not know exactly what you are doing in the registry. There fore, it is better if you search through the Internet and locate a registry cleaner, such as Windows XP registry cleaner, Free registry cleaner or a Eusing registry cleaner then down load the windows registry cleaner you feel is best for your system and run it to scan the registry and then clean the registry of all the redundant files or broken links.

By using a registry cleaner on a regular basis you will find that your system will be making less errors while operating. Most of the LNK or EXE errors will have been done away with as well. The system will also run more efficiently and faster than before the registry cleaner was run on the system. The registry is the central database of the system and stores all the information the system needs to run efficiently. Any changes in the system are reflected in the registry in the appropriate section. The registry grows in size as the system is used. Thus when a program requests some information it has to be located in the registry and the registry searches through the entire filing system to locate the information. This is how the registry slows down a system drastically as it grows.

The registry will keep all information entered into it. So the redundant information has to be cleaned or erased from time to time. This is accomplished with the help of registry cleaner software. Registry cleaner software is a great tool to speed up the system and make it more stable.

Mistakes Affiliates Make - Help For Newbies

Mistakes affiliates make result generally from a lack of knowledge. Yes, we know there are many ebooks showing affiliates the way to go. But remember, even the gurus had a learning curve. Gurus made mistakes too.

The key for affiliates today is to learn as much as they can even as they join affiliate programs. The major portion of affiliate sales are raked in by only 5% of the affiliates! Please dont let that information discourage you.

Newbies especially, be encouraged. Here is the other side of the coin! A research firm Forrester Research, indicates that we affiliates will have $280 billion dollars/year to divide up amongst ourselves by 2008. Walk dont run, take your time, and learn the ropes. There is hope for us! But try to avoid the following:

Affiliate Mistake #1

When you promote, be sure to promote the product. Nothing else, just the product. Let the wealthy people who captured you into their program be concerned about promoting the program. You just focus on selling the product. Thats what affiliates do.

While youre at it, endorse the product. You are your chief weapon in your marketing arsenal. Did you know that? Well you know it now. Tell them about the product. Let them know how it has benefited you. Endorse, endorse and endorse some more!

Affiliate Mistake #2

Stay away from the heavy hitters. If your specialty in the offline world was marketing that doesnt mean youre going to be great in the online world. Swim in the waters where the small grunts are first.

As you learn a few online tips and tricks, then you can wade into deeper water. But dont go out too far! The deeper waters of the Internet are known to be shark-infested.

Affiliate Mistake #3

Are you capturing names and addresses? No! Youve gotta be kidding me! Youre letting money slip through your fingers. Answer this? Would you rather buy from someone that you trust, or someone that you dont trust? Yeah! I figured so.

Collect those emails and start to build some trust with your very own list. Take your time with this. Dont rush them. Dont bug them either. Work on that list immediately.

Affiliate Mistake #4

Keep track of the promotions you do. Some will be duds. Theres nothing worse than throwing money after an unprofitable promotion. What makes it worse is that you may have a profitable promotion that you arent paying much attention to but should be.

Affiliate Mistake #5

While youre working on your affiliate programs whats happening with your own product? What was that? I didnt hear you? No? Okay, what do you like to do? Quite frankly you may not be able to pursue what you are passionate about.

But there must be something you can do? Everyone on the topside has a gift. Is it plumbing? Gardening? You must have something up your sleeve. If its something youre passionate about, and it works online, you may have arrived. But you wont know until you take action.

Lets be realistic. Youre going to make mistakes, youre human. Allow me to encourage you with this; there is more money out there than the mistakes you can make. Youll be an expert one day. And when that happens you wont be able to get out of the way of those affiliate commissions.

How To Copyright And Patent Your Software

If you're wondering how to copyright software, the good news is you've probably already done it. At least you have if you have ever written software. Most people get confused over exactly what having a copyright for their software means. Only those things that can be seen (when it comes to software) can be copyrighted. If you want to protect the abstract, look into patents. Otherwise if it is original, fixed, and tangible you can copyright it. Essentially you already know how to copyright software if you've put it into a finished form. Once you've written the source code, the copyright belongs to you.

Copyrighting software doesn't offer the protection that many people hope it will. The idea of software and anything about the finished product that wasn't available in a tangible (visible) form isn't protected by copyright. In fact, the only thing undeniably protected by software copyright is the source code. The question you should ask yourself is not how to copyright software, but how to patent your software.

What Is A Software Patent?

A software patent has no universal understanding. In general, owning a patent allows a company certain rights (or exclusivity) for a prescribed amount of time. Individuals or corporations seeking a patent must apply for a patent in each country in which they wish to have one. Unlike copyrights, patents are not automatically granted to applicants and can take a while to be approved.

The growth of Internet business and e-commerce has led to many patent applications for software, particularly software designed for specific business applications. While the cases are granted and successfully tried and defended in some countries, other countries offer no enforcement or legal recourse for those who do not honor the software patent, even if the patents were granted in those countries. The fine line between nations about what is and isn't patentable is another challenge to establish and honor patents.

Patents differ greatly from copyrights, which are issued automatically and recognized and enforced internationally. Copyrights protect the source code of software from being copied and registration is generally not required to protect your work.

Lately there is a new term, Copyleft, which is an obvious play on words and represents the rights to not only redistribute the copyrighted works, but also to modify and freely distribute those modifications. This term is very much in the spirit of many open source types of software and music. The catch for copyleft protection is that the newly created work be distributed in the same manner and spirit in which it was received. In other words if you were freely given the software, then you must freely provide the improvements and modifications you made to that software.

One unfortunate circumstance surrounding patents is the unequal and obvious disparity between the haves and the have not's. Patent enforcement for software, unlike literature and music, is largely subjective. In literature and music, it is obvious that the copyright has been abused or that the work has been copied; this isn't as simple with software.

How to Obtain a Patent

To obtain a patent for your software, you must apply for a patent in each country that offers patents for software and in which you wish to have the protection a patent can offer. There is no universal legal definition of what a software patent is. Each country that offers patents also has a different definition for what is protected by that patent, as well as for why a patent will be granted. Also consider the fact your software may be given a patent in one country where you applied and none of the others.

Of course, if this is not enough fun for you, you can try to deal with the red tape involved in dealing with multiple governments to resolve any issues or disputes that may have arisen from your software patents.

If you are applying for international patents (which can secure a profitable future for you and your business), you need to find a good patent lawyer and have him walk you through the entire process. Patents are complicated. When you're not exactly sure of what you're doing, whom you need to talk to, and what the next step is, you stand to waste a lot of time while taking a bigger risk. It is much easier to deal with how to copyright software on your own than it is to work out the complicated world of software patents.

If this is your first time designing your own software, you have every right to be nervous. Remember: lawyers went to school much longer than you to know what to do in this situation, so you should not be expected to know how to copyright or patent software when you've never done it before.

About Xoops---Pack of Information for the Newbie

When it comes to the creation of a content rich, large, dynamic website, you are invariably faced with several myths---strong enough to make you drop your plan altogether. One such myth is: it requires you to be a smart programmer to upload and run a versatile website like this. WRONG!! Getting and running a dynamic website of your dream become piece of cake without hassle or lot of efforts, when you are armed with a tool like XOOPS.

If you are a web host, Xoops can be a great CMS tool for you to easily create dynamic websites. Xoops acts as an ideal tool for developing dynamic community websites---big or small. If you want to create personal weblog or corporate intranet site, or a content rich informative portal----Xoops can be the ultimate solution for getting them and running.

To install it in your server, simply what you need are: a PHP-capable web server such as Apache and a database preferably MySQL.

To keep with the spirit of the type of your website, you can use the software differently.

As for example, Lite XOOPS can be used to create a small size personal weblog or journal. The news module that comes inbuilt with its core framework is enough for the purpose.

For a medium size website you need to make use of the additional modules such as News, Forum, Download, Web Links etc. These modules will help in building up of a community and facilitate interaction among the members and with the visitors.

A feature rich e-commerce site however requires development of some of the customized modules. You can download them free or buy from the outside developers. In any case, Xoops uniform user management system will help you to seamlessly integrate these modules with the core system.

There are some must-to install modules which you need to use as add-ons for a stronger foundation along with the core framework of Xoops. These are:

Security module (antivirus and firewall), additional editors (word processors), a backup module to protect the data, and a few diagnostic modules for managing the site.

Here is a brief guide of the locations from where you can download these add-ons.

Security (the Protector Module v3.0)

Backup (DB Backup and Restore)

Editors (Frameworks and Xoopseditors v1.10)

Diagnostics (XoopsInfo v2.12)

In addition to the above mentioned modules which are essentially administrative in nature, you need to download more modules to support the features like news, photo galleries, links, forums, wikis, blogs and games.

Here is the last piece of advice relating to the selection of the version. We recommend the latest version which can be found by clicking Download Xoops in the Xoops .org Community menu. The latest version---2.0.16 has been released in March 2007.

What Is Firewall?

Traditionally, a firewall is used to protect one unit in a multi-unit building from a fire that occurs in an adjacent unit. The hope is that the firewall will isolate each unit from a disaster in one of its neighbors.

Today we use firewalls in computer networks to isolate our network and hosts from danger posed by our neighbors. Firewalls protect us from the unauthorized use of our resources by external entities. Simply put, a firewall protects you from what is happening "out there." And it can help to keep something happening inside your network from spreading.

Why do you want to be protected? In order to meet the three principlesconfidentiality, integrity, and availabilityyou need to address the risks you've identified. This may mean you need to be protected from the wide-open Internet. It's a scary place out there. You may also need to isolate select hosts from the rest of your network. The threat of insider intrusion is still very real, and firewalls can help here too.

How does a firewall protect you? In its simplest form, a firewall examines your communications requests (network traffic) and decides, based on rules you have defined, what is and is not allowed. Really, a very straightforward functionon paper, anyhow. Complications are introduced by the different ways to achieve this goal. And each method has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Traditionally, corporations have firewalls only at the perimeter of the networkwhere the corporate network meets the Internet. However, the traditional network is changing. Users connect from home with high-speed Internet connections like cable modems, and sensitive data is being stored on local hard drives. These changes often make it necessary to consider protecting the local host with its own firewall software. And this is where personal firewall software plays a role.

Healthy Eating, Healthy Breasts

Healthy Eating, Healthy Breasts

Eating for healthy breasts is easy and delicious. It is not about sacrifice or giving up burgers and ice cream; it's about discovering new foods and new ways to prepare old favorites. It's about having more energy, feeling better about yourself, and having more control over your health. Basically, it's about improving the quality of your life, for the rest of your life.

Make no mistake: No single diet, food, or supplement can guarantee you won't get cancer. But if you eat a combination of foods that have been shown to prevent cancer and promote health, you can reduce your risk by at least one-third, and more if you follow other healthy habits.

Fortunately there are many different types of cancer preventive foods available perhaps more than you dreamed. Chances are you're already eating some of them, but you may not recognize them when you look at the food on your plate. Are there avocados and fresh spinach under that blue cheese dressing? Are vitamin-rich onions hiding under that fried batter? Can you detect protein-rich low-fat beans swimming in that beef-laden chili? This step will help you gain a new perspective on healthy foods and expand your culinary horizons.

What We Know About Healthy Eating

The Controversy

Although scores of studies have been done, researchers do not have many definitive answers about the role of foods and nutrients in the prevention of cancer. Many nutritional experts believe, however, that a significant number of Nature's compounds, including vitamins minerals, and phytochemicals, help fight cancer. But it has been difficult to measure the actions of these substances because there are so many variables to consider when analyzing the impact of foods and nutrients in humans. That's why the information in this chapter has been culled from the latest and most respected sources, including the American Institute for Cancer Research and the American

Dietetic Association.

The American Institute for Cancer Research

To make it easy for you to put together your healthy eating plan, here are the recommendations put forth by the American Institute for Cancer Research's Program for Cancer Prevention -t Food, Nutrition and the which are explained in detail in its report ,Prevention of Cancer: A Global Perspective, These recommendations are the foundation upon which the dietary suggestions in this chapter are based. Although you won't see any radical ideas here, they are universal and the result of years of solid research:

Choose foods that leave undergone little or no processing ( avoid canned, freeze-dried, and frozen foods and foods containing chemical preservatives colorings, and favorings).

The majority or all your food choices should come from the plant kingdom, which includes fruits, vegetables, legumes, rice, soy foods, whole grains, and foods made from whole grains (and not white, bleached floor), such as pasta, breads and cereals.

Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

Eat at least seven serving of whole grains, legumes, roots, plantains, and tubers every day.

Afraid red meat. If you do include animal protein, limit it to no more than 3 ounces per day and choose fish or chicken without skin. Animal protein should be baked, steamed , broiled, or poached, do not add fat when cooking.

Limit consumption of dairy products ( low-fat and no-fat are better, but they may still contain toxins) and other fatty foods. The healthiest oils are olive, flaxseed, and nut. These vegetable oils should be used in moderation and never heated.

If you drink alcohol , limit your intake to one drink per day.

Armed with this basic outline, along with the warning to avoid sugar and caffeine, you are now ready to look at these foods and the healthy substances they contain.

The Prescription For Your PCs Health RollBack Rx

Where there is data, there is a threat to its security. More so for very large organizations that need to be ready with disaster recovery measures and return to work as quickly as possible. Maybe you have firewalls, a regularly up to date anti virus program to protect your system and other software that detects spy ware and so on. But time is money. With the RollBack Rx system restore software, which also prevents data loss, you save both! As a snapshot-based approach this software helps you manage the configuration of your systems and lets you save money on PC support. This naturally results in minimizing downtime.

Say Goodbye To System Crashes

Within seconds, RollBack Rx can perform a pc restore, taking you to the exact point where youd like to RollBack. With conventional methods, it takes several hours sometimes to repair computer problems. RollBack Rx is unique in that it can restore computer and user settings, applications and data in spite of a damaged registry. It does not depend on the Windows operating system to function. RollBack Rx works at the disk level, controlling its input/output and makes sure that your system is restored to the desired point within the boot cycle.

RollBack Rx, when installed in your system, does not differentiate between what files to protect. It protects each and every file in your system, so that when it begins to fix computer problems, it recovers full access to your operating system, all your applications, settings and other data. Usually system recovery software programs restrict themselves to protecting the operation system files, hardware drivers or certain system files. They are unable to reach the important files in a crashed state. This obviously ends up in data loss. RollBack Rx, unlike traditional system restore software, does not duplicate or back up any data on your hard drive. It simply takes snapshots, from which you can then choose, depending on which operating state you want to return to.

All Microsoft Windows based PCs support RollBack Rx software. It operates at the sector level and enables both remote and local update. It helps in patch management as well, making it faster and more effective since it has the ability to make a snapshot of the system before the patch was installed, which means making it possible to instantly RollBack to the pre-patch state.

Most computers have anti virus or spy ware protection installed in them. RollBack Rx is compatible with all anti-virus and anti-spy ware applications and software. You can just instruct your RollBack Rx to take a snapshot of your system before or after anti virus updates.

The Real Top Ten Reasons Companies Are Switching To Voip

1. Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for new businesses or businesses in need of replacing their existing phone system. With a Hosted VoIP PBX companies get full use of a PBX without the costly expense of equipment, upgrades and maintenance. Small businesses can have the appearance of a large centralized business with a Hosted PBX by utilizing the span of features available.

2. No need to purchase new equipment or lose your investment in your current legacy system. VoIP providers over the course of time have spent so much in product development of their Hosted VoIP Solution that many of them are not offering SIP Trunking and many businesses do not realize the benefits of SIP trunking. SIP trunking allows businesses to keep their existing analog PBX and telephones.

3. Lower Monthly Recurring Charges. Bundling voice and data on to one network provides one solution, one bill and one provider. Most VoIP providers offer unlimited local and long distance calling and a good bundled solution should also provide a fast business class internet connection. The benefits to bundled services are that it maximizes the dollars a small to medium size business is spending on telecommunication services.

4. Over 70% of traditional phone bills are wrong. VoIP customers know ahead of time every month exactly how much their bill is going to be for all services except international calling. There is very little room for billing errors and crammed bills full of services not requested or required.

5. Cuts Operating Costs. VoIP solutions are software based and is easily updated, changed and expanded without further capital expense. The hosted PBX is completely maintenance free because there is no hardware. It is a virtual system. Unlike conventional legacy phone system that is hardware based and are expensive to make changes and require costly equipment purchases to expand calling capacity.

6. Streamline Communications. With VoIP companies can take advantage of simple 3 digit transfer to any supported property or office. No matter if one office is in Boca Raton and the other office is in New York the call is transferred as if they were in the same building. Furthermore businesses can consolidate call answering from a central location too. Eliminate the need and responsibility of every office location having to manage their incoming calls with centralized call answering.

7. Disaster Proof a hosted PBX phone system coupled with an IP telephone is disaster proof. Companies lost several thousand dollars because of the loss of communication during and after the hurricanes. The PBX is hosted off site in a secured facility with multiple back up systems and reroutes.

8. QOS stands for Quality of Service gone are the days of dropped unclear calls. Business class VoIP maintains a high QOS and technological advances in IP telephony transportation have made Internet calling as good as or better than normal PSTN connections. This is true for high speed Broadband connections and dedicated internet connections, whereas dial up services have some way to go before delivering the quality of PSTN calling.

9. Hybrid VoIP Solution. There are a few VoIP providers that deploy a hybrid VoIP solution that automatically reserves or routes resources for optimal bandwidth allocation. The system automatically ensures that the VoIP call has the bandwidth needed allocated from point to point before the conversation takes place. The second is prioritization: Here, the end point suggests a priority on the packets and each router decides if it will honor this request or not. Voice will always take a priority over data. A hybrid solution furthermore distributes the bandwidth that on a traditional system is not dynamic or flexible.

10. Multi Layered Security Unlike traditional service VoIP attacks are prevented because of the multitude of layers and encryptions placed within the providers networks. The layered security approach not only prevents attacks, but the probability that if broached it will meaningfully reduce the probability that the attack succeeds.
